Sentinel Engine 0.0.1, 64-bit Linux

RUNNING IT

  ./run.sh

Or ./SentinelEngine, as long as this folder is the working directory. run.sh
changes into the folder first, so it works from anywhere and from a file
  manager.

Keep this folder together. The engine looks for assets/ and config/ next to
itself, and for its SDL libraries in lib/, so moving the program out on its
  own stops it starting.

WHAT IT NEEDS

glibc 2.38 or newer. That is Ubuntu 24.04, Debian 13, Fedora 39 and anything
  later.

libharfbuzz.so.0 and libfreetype.so.6, which any desktop system already has.
  On a machine without them:

Debian, Ubuntu sudo apt install libharfbuzz0b libfreetype6
Fedora sudo dnf install harfbuzz freetype
Arch sudo pacman -S harfbuzz freetype2

Everything else it uses is in lib/. SDL finds X11, Wayland, ALSA, PulseAudio
and Vulkan on the system at run time and copes with whichever are present.

KEYS

Up / Down, Enter Choose an item in the menu
Escape Leave the current screen, or quit from the menu
  F3 Frame time graph
F4 Freeze the graph to inspect a spike
  F12 Save a screenshot into captures/

NOTES

A captures/ folder appears the first time you press F12.

config/sentinel-engine.ini is written on first run. If the window ever opens
off the edge of the screen, delete that file and it will go back to a 800x450
  window.

There is no Physics Demo in this build. It needs Box2D, which is optional and
is not built into the packaged archive.

A gamepad is picked up when it is connected. The Gamepad Demo shows what the
  engine sees.
